BSU, DSWD-CAR partnership thru ULIS, CTE

The MOA signing held at the President’s Office February 26, 2020.

The ULIS joined forces with CTE in an extension service through participation in the Social Welfare and Development Learning NetWork (SWDLNET) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development-Field Office Cordillera Administrative Region.

The MOA was signed on February 26, 2020, at the Office of the President for Knowledge Sharing initiatives participated by the College of Teacher Education and Library Services.

With the mandate of DSWD-FO-CAR in seeking to develop and institutionalize a self-regulating network to maximize existing resources, the SWDLNET was organized to nobly respond to the needs of individuals, families, and communities. Benguet State University also seeks its part in the fulfillment of this noble purpose by entering into collaboration and partnership with DSWD-FO-CAR. Through the ULIS and CTE, the university will be able to support the Network to be developed by sharing its programs and services. Specifically, the Library will contribute its expertise on Library Management Services.

Pres. Feliciano G. Calora Jr, and Regional Director Leo L. Quintilla, signing the Memorandum of Agreement.

To quote President Feliciano G. Calora Jr. in his opening remarks for the previous collaboration of the University with DOST-Integrated Philippine e-library Project (iPel), “Knowledge management is the name of the game… especially now with the ASEAN integration.” This means that the university is thrusting towards optimizing knowledge management practices and projects.

Also, in the Knowledge Management Framework of DSWD, knowledge is considered as the key organizational resource and the DSWD realizes that it should be managed effectively. There is a need to access, share and exchange this knowledge to ensure that the goals of the Department will be achieved. This assures that the motives of all the parties involved in the signing are united and are looking forward to a partnership to empower the university and the community with more Knowledge.

Lauren Kipaan, ULIS Director and Imelda Parcasio, CTE Dean, also signatories in the said MOA.
